In October 2020 I ordered the plans for Oonagh from OffCenterHarbor.com. Oonagh is a 12′ x 5′ pram with a gaff rig. Hylan & Brown boatbuilders offer a kit with all the plywood parts pre-cut. Several structural parts need to be made from tropical hardwoods and I sourced some African Mahogany from Maryland-Select Hardwoods in Charles County.
One of the side benefits of this project is that I get to buy lots of new tools. While waiting for the kit to arrive I get to build the miniature sawhorses that will be needed for the mold.
The plans are pretty detailed and Off Center Harbor has promised videos of the boat being built at Hyland & Brown.
December 3rd, the kit finally arrives on a large 4’x8′ pallet.
It takes me several days to remove each of the 10 sheets, cut out each part and then plane & sand the edges smooth.
There are a lot of parts. This is a small sample.
